THE BEAT GOES ON??

This week was a crazy one. I was swamped with assignments and felt completely unorganized. In the midst of it all I had remembered that I told N that Id go to the SHE & HIM show with him. I wasnt sure how I was going to swing it- but I was going to somehow. I was running late, he was waiting for me and I felt awful. I finally plopped down in my seat and instantly felt so excited to be at a show. They played in the new theatre in NYU and the sound quality was amazingggg!! I havent been going to see shows as much as Id like to be because of my work load, so I was extra pumped.

When Zooey D took the stage and M. Ward followed after her, the crowd roared. Not gonna lie, I was really impressed by the completely full auditorium. She was so socially awkward the minute she got on stage. She just frowned and went straight into song. She continued to do this for 3 songs. It almost felt like it was her first time performing and she was suffering from stage fright. I was cringing for her. The crowd started heckling at her and suddenly she came to life. I think what is so appealing about her- is her ability to be strange and adorable at the same time. M Ward was phenomenal as usual. The man slays at guitar and can play the piano like a beast. When they sang YOU REALLY GOT A HOLD ON ME my body became covered in goose bumps 3 times. Girl can sing and he can croon. SWEET DARLING was perfection too. So again, buy this album.

It wouldnt be complete if I didnt mention the fact that while she was mid song on one of the slower tracks, she completely zoned out. She was tapping the tambourine and lost her beat and her eyes just got locked in a fog. N and I looked at each other and cracked up. It was hysterical!! I forgot just how much I enjoy going to see live shows. Felt good to be back in the game :)

N then saved my life and spent 2 hours with me in Kinkos photoshopping my Lichtenstein piece into perspective for my color class. He said that normally it would take someone five minutes if they knew what they were doing. Nevertheless he did a great job. My being in school has suddenly burdened all of my friends in one way or another. I love you all for helping me and for putting up with my nagging. Soon it will be over and I will gladly do anything you ask me to.

In other news- my best friend Nicole is about to be signed to a label due to her amazing voice. Im so proud of her!!! Im going to get her track in the mp3 version and post it on here. She kinda sounds like Zooey D and shes cool as sh*t, so yeah. Stay tuned for amazingness.. P to tha S we share the same birthday.. How freaking weird is that?
